Missions is for me, too!

Missions may appear to be an outward movement.
I go.
I serve.
I give—my time, my resources, my strength, my love—to share the gospel with others.
But today, the Lord quietly reminded me: missions is for you, too!
Mission is not only outward, but it is deeply personal.
Every time I say yes to Jesus, something within me shifts. My obedience reshapes my heart. My surrender softens my will. My faith is stretched, refined, and strengthened.
I began to wonder, what if the transformation happening inside me is not secondary to the mission, but part of it? What if God is using missions not only to reach others, but to change me?
Perhaps the cost I count is really not a cost, for I am gaining more from the journey.
Because the gospel I carry outward is the same gospel quietly working inward.
Missions teach me to trust.
To obey even when it’s uncomfortable.
To love beyond convenience.
To say yes again and again, even when it costs me something.
And maybe, that is the gift: that in reaching others, God is also reaching me.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the privilege of partnering with You in sharing the gospel of the Kingdom, not only to be a vessel, but to be transformed. Let every yes I give You shape me more into the likeness of Christ. May I never miss what You are doing in me while I serve You through others. I love You, Lord. In Jesus' name, amen.
