Love Through Bags of Chips.

What does love look like?

Earlier today, I joined our team for an outreach at a school for children with special needs. I was there mainly to document the day, to take photos, capture moments, and tell the story.

So we go on with the usual flow— greeting the students, a short singing time as an ice-breaker, introducing the team, telling them a Bible story, sharing a testimony, and, at the end of the program, handing out snacks: chips, biscuits, and jelly cups, which is how things normally go.

But today was different.

Because the children have disabilities, as they received the snacks, many of them couldn't open the packaging on their own. Some struggled with the bags of chips. Others couldn't peel back the lids of the jelly cups or open the biscuit packs.

So we helped them.

We opened bags of chips. We peeled jelly lids. We unwrapped biscuits.

And while I was doing those simple things, a thought quietly came to my heart:

Sometimes, missions is as simple as opening a bag of chips for someone else.

We often think of missions as something grand, crossing borders, preaching to crowds, or doing extraordinary things for God. And while those moments matter, today reminded me that love is often expressed in the simplest ways.

Maybe that's what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus—not always through remarkable moments, but through ordinary acts of love that quietly remind someone they are seen, cared for, and valued.

Perhaps the kingdom of God is built more often in these quiet, ordinary moments than we realize :)

A quick note: I originally wrote this last week, and I would have loved to include photos from the outreach, but to protect the privacy and dignity of the children, I won't be sharing any images. I hope these words can paint the picture instead.
