I have come to fall in love with this word and its nuanced meaning.
Adverb: yet
Up until the present and into the future for a specified time.
“You have never failed me yet, Lord.”
A TRUTH.
Referring to something that will or may happen in the future.
“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” – Psalm 42:11
AN ASSURANCE.
Conjunction: yet
Still. Even.
“Yet even now,” declares the LORD, “return to me with all your heart” – Joel 2:12
A PROMISE.
Nevertheless. Despite of.
“… and yet I will praise the Lord”
A WORSHIP.
Profound that this single word has led me on a journey of truth, assurance, promise, and worship.
It's the unwavering truth that, amidst life's challenges, the Lord's kindness has never wavered. From the past to the present, and undoubtedly into the future, He has never failed me yet.
It's the comforting assurance that there are countless things that are waiting to unfold, and I have yet to fully praise God for all that He has in store for me.
It's the sacred promise that His grace is boundless. Every time I fall short, I can always return to His presence and find mercy.
And it's a form of worship. Amidst my own brokenness and the chaos of the world around me and yet I will praise the Lord.
